Shop Floor Connect / DNC Connect / 3rd Party Integration / Mcenter Service Release 2601

The new Shop Floor Connect, DNC Connect, 3rd Party Integration, API, MMR Service version 2601 is released and now available. Please look below for the enhancements and changes of the different modules.

The release is now available to all customers with a maintenance contract in our new helpdesk. Please register on the following page. You will then receive confirmation of your access. You can then submit support requests and download the releases. All customers who do not yet have access to our helpdesk and want to download the software, please request access via the following link.

Please send an email to service@aplusb-solutions.com if you want the release on a data medium. Direct Siemens PLM Software customers can get the release from the GTAC download area.

This Shop Floor Connect Release 2601 supports all Teamcenter UA versions from 12.x up to the actual version Teamcenter 2506.

Urgent Service notes

• DNC Connect only supports the actual NX versions who are under maintenance from Siemens.
• For customers who want to update on the Teamcenter 11.3 version or higher: From TC 11.3 and on, a new license verification will be done upon the creation of manufacturing objects like MEProcess, MEOP, MEWorkArea and their sub-types (including custom types). This check will be done on server side per Teamcenter policy and to ensure license verification. It will use two new feature keys: 1) mfg_planning_lite for verifying MEProcess, MEOP and their sub-types 2) mfg_plant_author for verifying MEWorkArea and its sub-types.
  This new license check will be done in addition to other license verification that exists today. If you don’t find them in your Teamcenter 11.3 or higher license key please get in contact with Siemens Digital Industries Software.

Enhancements

• Upgrade internal Tomcat to version 9.0.112.
• ActiveDNC: In the tool list view, in addition to the tool assemblies, the components can now also be opened in a separate view.
• ActiveDNC: The UI configuration file ?RT_ToolComponentListPanel? is now created by the update or installation process if it does not already exist.
• New chapter ‘Configuring the Java Truststore’. It describes how a customer-specific CA certificate can be imported into the Java runtime truststore so that encrypted connections can be established.
• Documentation: Two chapters have been added that describe the optional required Teamcenter license fragments: ‘Configuration based on plant structure’ -> ‘Required Teamcenter license fragments’ ShopFloorConnect FAQ -> ‘Which Teamcenter license fragments are optionally required?’
• Documentation: Add chapter ‘Logging the runtimes of Teamcenter API calls’ which describes how to modify logger configuration to add access times to Teamcenter via Teamcenter SOA API calls.
• Removed support of Teamcenter 11.

Bugfixes/Changes

• ActiveDNC: A problem has been fixed which prevented PMIs from being displayed or displayed completely.
• ActiveDNC: If ToolActivities are present in a work package but there are no MRL tools in the BOM and therefore no link is possible, ActiveDNC previously terminated with a NullPointerException during loading and the work package view could not be opened. This error has been fixed.
• ActiveDNC: The configuration entry ?Blog.Enabled? was previously only taken into account in the global configuration file. Now, the configuration for individual clients is considered as well.

Announcements

• Support for Teamcenter 2512 will be included in the upcoming SFC release 2604. Since Teamcenter 2512 requires Java version 21, SFC will also be adapted to this version. Unfortunately, this means that 32-bit support will no longer be available. SFC_ServerService 2604 will therefore no longer be able to be installed on 32-bit operating systems! The MTC_ServerService can optionally continue to be operated under Java 17 32-bit if required.

Bugfixes/Changes

• Focas: Fixed an issue where MI configured for this opertaion mode did not start after 12/31/2025 with the following error: “Trial expired!”

Mcenter Service

Enhancements

• MRL_MMR: Support of the Mcenter API ‘Tool / Masterdata / V2’.
• MRL_MMR: Mcenter attributes of type ?Number? were not converted correctly. Now, the system first checks whether the value to be transferred is an integer. If not, a floating point number (double) is used.

Bugfixes/Changes

• MRL_MMR: A bug has been fixed that caused the Teamcenter workflow for transferring a tool assembly to terminate with a general error if the tool assembly did not contain any attachments (i.e., files) in Teamcenter.
