Shop Floor Connect / DNC Connect / 3rd Party Integration / API / MMR Service Release 2023.3 – August 2023

The new Shop Floor Connect, DNC Connect, 3rd Party Integration, API, MMR Service version 2023.3 is released and now available. Please look below for the enhancements and changes of the different modules.

The release is available for all customers with maintenance agreement and access to our Customer Information Center (CIC) for download (please create a release activity).

All customers who do not have access to our CIC platform and want to download the software over CIC have to require access over the following link. Please send an email to service@aplusb-solutions.com if you want the release on a data medium. Direct Siemens PLM Software customers can get the release from the GTAC download area.

This Shop Floor Connect Release 2023.3 supports all Teamcenter UA versions from 10.x up to the actual version Teamcenter 14.x.

Urgent Service notes

• DNC Connect only supports the actual NX versions who are under maintenance from Siemens.
• For customers who want to update on the Teamcenter 11.3 version or higher: From TC 11.3 and on, a new license verification will be done upon the creation of manufacturing objects like MEProcess, MEOP, MEWorkArea and their sub-types (including custom types). This check will be done on server side per Teamcenter policy and to ensure license verification. It will use two new feature keys: 1) mfg_planning_lite for verifying MEProcess, MEOP and their sub-types 2) mfg_plant_author for verifying MEWorkArea and its sub-types.
  This new license check will be done in addition to other license verification that exists today. If you don’t find them in your Teamcenter 11.3 or higher license key please get in contact with Siemens PLM.
• The new UI Shop Floor Connect Active DNC drop support of Internet Explorer 11 and older! Please use Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome or the new Microsoft Edge Browser!

Enhancements

• ActiveDNC: If a login is used in failover mode 2 and the user is to be verified via an external LDAP, the necessary group name can now be set in web.xml as security-role/role-name. Previously, the group name “SFC-user” had to be permanently used here.
• ActiveDNC: The update script will not overwrite the ‘web.xml’ anymore. The default file is available in directory ‘ActiveDNC\WEB-INF\conf\defaults’.
• ActiveDNC: Additional localization Polish (PL) is now available.
• ActiveDNC: If a dataset contains several NC files, an additional MI filter (SFC_WPD_Filter) can be used to create a subdirectory in the transfer directory and store the files there. When sending back, the folder is then selected and all files in it are saved in the upload dataset.
• ActiveDNC: Blog is now also available for machine.
• ActiveDNC: First version to limit the number of possible downloads for a dataset.
• ResourceTracker: Tool setup now supports the selective transfer of one or more tools to a selected machine magazine.
• SOAPWrapper: Changes in logback.xml are now detected and automatically reloaded.
• ResourceTracker: It’s now possible to load all tools from the loading list into the (first) machine magazin with one click.
• SFCAdmin: Migrate UI to match ActiveWorkspace look and feel.

Bugfixes/Changes

• Failover V2: Fixed an issue where querying data from the cache in failover mode was aborted with the error message ‘Query failed! No information of the error found!’.
• Tomcat: Hide Tomcat version information in error pages.
• Install/Update: It is checked under Linux whether an environment variable CATALINA_HOME is present. In this case, startup.sh and shutdown.sh are modified to use the bundled Tomcat.
• SFCCore: Fixed an issue in the internal Teamcenter connection pool where checking in a used user-specific connection was sometimes not successful the first time.
• Announcement: Teamcenter 10 UA support will end in one of the next SFC releases.

Bugfixes/Changes

• ToolPlan: ToolClass.Name.pv.[n] supports now “WorkpackageAttribute:object_name” to access name of the MRL tool.

MI-Server

Enhancements

• com.aplusb.mi.filter.Siemens_840_File_Splitter now no longer crashes with an error message if a % character is used in a comment line.
• MI_Filter: New filter to create a sub folder in the configured target directory (local and SMB).

• Tomcat: Hide Tomcat version information in error pages.
