Urgent Service notes

  • DNC Connect only supports the actual NX versions who are under maintenance from Siemens.
  • For customers who want to update on the Teamcenter 11.3 version or higher: From TC 11.3 and on, a new license verification will be done upon the creation of manufacturing objects like MEProcess, MEOP, MEWorkArea and their sub-types (including custom types). This check will be done on server side per Teamcenter policy and to ensure license verification. It will use two new feature keys: 1) mfg_planning_lite for verifying MEProcess, MEOP and their sub-types 2) mfg_plant_author for verifying MEWorkArea and its sub-types.
This new license check will be done in addition to other license verification that exists today. If you don’t find them in your Teamcenter 11.3 or higher license key please get in contact with Siemens PLM.

Shop Floor Connect

Enhancements

  • Upgrade internal Tomcat to version 9.0.108.
  • The existing attributes of a user-defined search in Teamcenter are now cached with the first query in the SFC session. This prevents repeated requests to Teamcenter
  • /tcw/admin redirects to /SFCAdmin if configuration was previously migrated
  • Once the configuration storage (see #6149) has been converted to the new factory structure, the previous MI administration /tcw/admin can no longer be used. External applications that use these API calls to create workstations and MI must also be adapted. /tcw/admin redirects to the extended /SFCAdmin page. Restriction: In the current version, DNCTypes cannot yet be configured in /SFCAdmin. This will be added in the upcoming SFC release
  • The SFC configuration storage can now be converted to factory structure-based storage. All workstation-related objects are stored in the parts list of a factory root element. The configurations of the MTCs, DNC types, and other elements required by SFC are now only stored in the internal SFC database and are no longer transferred to Teamcenter. This is the first version that supports this new storage structure. It should first be thoroughly tested on a test system
  • The values entered for the input fields configured in #6152 are now transferred to the MTC with the transfer. This can then write these values to the transfer log. This requires at least build 554 of the MTC server.
  • After migrating to the new plant based configuration of SFC the settings for DNC status are no longer stored in Teamcenter. The settings are saved in SFC directly. Existing configuration data in Teamcenter will not be deleted after migration!
  • After migrating to the new plant based configuration of SFC the settings for SFC search and report criterias are no longer stored in Teamcenter. The settings are saved in SFC directly. Existing configuration data in Teamcenter will not be deleted after migration!

Bugfixes/Changes

  • Update commons-fileupload to version 1.6.0 due to CVE-2025-48976

Announcements

  • From version 2510 of SFC, the minimum required Java version will generally be changed to version 17. This will mainly affect installations under Linux, as the Java runtime is installed there via the package manager. The Java runtime must then be updated before updating SFC.

MI-Server

Enhancements

  • Upgrade internal Tomcat to version 9.0.107
  • SFC_WPD_Filter now also supports the following value for ‘SubfolderNameSource’: ActivityName
  • SFC: Values of the optionally configurable user-defined input fields (for download) are now also written to mi_transfer_log.txt
  • Focas2: In archive mode ‘ArchiveDir’, the ‘Fanuc’ mode is now available for reporting. This allows all programs in a selected directory to be saved together in an archive. Optionally, write-protected files can be excluded. The archive created can later be transferred back to the controller as a single file. The control unit unpacks the individual files automatically

Bugfixes/Changes

  • Bugfix in check of configuration property ‘ArchiveDirForDNCType’
