Integration of third-party systems for manufacturing in Teamcenter
Those who use Teamcenter as a central PLM platform for their data, information and processes should have the ambition to manage all systems along the process chain from the idea to the finished product in Teamcenter. This means not only the development data, but also all systems and data in the production-related and direct production environment. Everybody talks about MultiCAD integration… we also talk about MultiCAM integration. With the “3rd Party Part Manufacturing Integrator” A+B Solutions has developed a further element for Siemens Digital Industries Software to digitize the manufacturing process chain.
With the 3rd Party Integration platform not only CAM, CMM or MES systems can be connected to Teamcenter, but also simulation, flexible manufacturing or automation systems as well as solutions for physical tool management.
The 3rd Party Part Manufacturing Integrator consists of three independently usable modules:
- 3rd Party Part MFG Integrator in TC – Data Mgt
Integration of external systems into Teamcenter for information, creation and download of data, creation of Teamcenter items, creation of new revisions, user login and much more. - 3rd Party Part MFG Integrator in TC – MRL Access
Connection of CAM, simulation or physical tool systems to the Teamcenter resource management MRL (Manufacturing Resource Library) for the use of tools and other resources during NC programming, simulation of machining paths or transfer of tool master data. - 3rd Party Part MFG Integrator in TC – Service
Service-to-service based connection of manufacturing solutions such as cell management or tool management that support such an architecture. A service for access to all manufacturing relevant and resource data between Teamcenter and external manufacturing systems.
The integration of 3rd party solutions in Teamcenter can be carried out in different stages and integration depths. A direct integration of the 3rd party system requires the cooperation of the corresponding solution provider.
