Shop Floor Connect for Teamcenter Release 2018.3 - August 2018

The new Shop Floor Connect for Teamcenter version 2018.3 is released and now available. Please look below for the enhancements and changes of the different modules.

The release is available for all customers with maintenance agreement and access to our Customer Information Center (CIC) for download (please create a release activity).

Customers who do not have access to our CIC platform and want to download the software over CIC have to require access over the following link. Direct Siemens PLM Software customers can get the release from the GTAC download area.

This Shop Floor Connect Release 2018.3 supports all Teamcenter UA versions from 9.x up to the actual version Teamcenter 11.x.

Urgent Service notes

• DNC Connect only supports the actual NX versions who are under maintenance from Siemens.
• For customers who want to update on the Teamcenter 11.3 version or higher: From TC 11.3 and on, a new license verification will be done upon the creation of manufacturing objects like MEProcess, MEOP, MEWorkArea and their sub-types (including custom types). This check will be done on server side per Teamcenter policy and to ensure license verification. It will use two new feature keys: 1) mfg_planning_lite for verifying MEProcess, MEOP and their sub-types 2) mfg_plant_author for verifying MEWorkArea and its sub-types.
  This new license check will be done in addition to other license verification that exists today. If you don't find them in your Teamcenter 11.3 or higher license key please get in contact with Siemens PLM.

Shop Floor Connect /DNC Connect / 3rd Party Integration

Enhancements

• During update SFC on windows platform, SFCServerServiceConfigUpdater.exe checks the SFC_ServerService configuration in Windows registry and updates the settings if required. Performed changes can be found in the update log file. .NET 3.5 or newer is required to execute SFCServerServiceConfigUpdater.exe
• It's now possible to configure upload mode of a workplace in MI Administration. This configuration setting is used by ActiveDNC.
• Additional (optional) configuration attribute accessKey of parent element "searchCriteria" in configuration file SFCQuery_conf.xml
• New API functions:
  SFC_Admin_CreateSFCWorkplaceElement_20183(String, String)
  SFC_Admin_UpdateSFCWorkplaceElement_20183(String, String)
  SFC_Admin_DeleteSFCWorkplaceElement_20183(String, String)
• New API function SFC_Config_GetSFCWorkplaceElement_20183
• New ActiveDNC icon to start transfer of all released datasets of loaded SFCWorkpackage (download all).
• ActiveDNC now supports scan upload.
• New ActiveDNC button in workplace status popup window to restart the MI.

Bugfixes/Changes

• Additional log file LicenseManager.log.txt. Contains Login and Logout Requests for SFC license usage traceability.
• Fixed an issue which prevented MS Excel files from being opened for editing in SFC. The downloaded file was always 0 bytes in size.
• Fixed an issue where error messages were not displayed when importing local files.
• Fixed an issue where error messages which might occur when saving a new blog entry were not displayed in the WebClient.
• Fixed an issue in sync workplace list. When reload configuration was executed and a file (named reference) of a workplace configuration dataset was not available, sync stopped loading remaining workplaces. The corrupt workplace will now be skipped and a error message will be written into log file.
• Fixed an issue where update an existing workplace configuration sometimes failed if Teamcenter preference "search_automatic_wildcard" is set to "3".
• Configuration of query "Latest Item Revision..." in SFCQuery_conf.xml contains an invalid attribute "ItemRevision". This is removed from SFCQuery_conf.xml.default during update.
  The used file(s) (SFCQuery_conf.xml) needs to be modified manually after the update!
• Added new menu item"Common -> Log files" in SFCAdmin webapp to access SFC log files. The last 100 lines will be displayed of the selected log file.
• Update Apache Tomcat to version 8.5.31.

MI-Server

Enhancements

• MmtUI is now part of MTC-Server Setup and will be installed/updated if SFC is installed.

Bugfixes/Changes

• SFC: Fixed an issue in Common_Upload_Filter (java.lang.IndexOutOfBoundsException: No group XX) if configuration key
  "Filter.Common_Upload_Filter.RowsScanLimit" is set.
• Moved *.default configuration files to 'WEB-INF/conf/defaults'
• Update Apache Tomcat to version 8.5.31.

• ActiveDNC: Modify UI for close Active Workspace look and feel
• New configuration file 'ShopFloorConnect/conf/SFCWorkpackage_conf.xml'. Used by ActiveDNC and API function SFC_RequestSFCWorkpackage_20174.
• ActiveDNC: Added localization support. Available locals are "en" (default) and "de". Use language configuration of the browser to set language.
• ActiveDNC: It's now possible to define shown properties in configuration file 'ShopFloorConnect/conf/SFCWorkpackage_conf.xml'.
• New configuration property TCConnectionCheck.Interval in file SOAPWrapper/WEB-INF/conf/velocity.properties
• Additional configuration property TCConnectionCheck.checkFCC in SOAPWrapper/WEB-INF/conf/velocity.properties
• API function SFC_RequestSFCWorkpackage_20174 is now using manufacturing context to access data of a MEOP Revision.

Bugfixes/Changes

• Fixed an issue in the old web client where graphic files of a HTML ShopDoc seems to be broken if the new automatic display configuration (IR 7954239) is in use.
• Fixed an issue where TransferLog forms are accumulated in the home folder of the pool user.
• Neu configuration key in Webclient for SSO: tcSSONoApplets This key controls the parameter TCSSONOAPPLETS in templates tcssologon.vm and tcssologout.vm. If this parameter is changed in a template, please set configuration property after the update to the correct value.
• FMS error code -9222 added into failover switch check.
• After a login of a Teamcenter user with license level Admin the FCC write test will now be executed.
• New configuration parameter for Zoller "Tool.Orientation" for mapping nominal setup values. For more detailed information take a look at "TMS_WebService.properties" file or the "Installand Configuration" documentation.

MI-Server

Bugfixes/Changes

• Fixed an issue in DirectWebDNC in combination with SFC which breaks a request with error: Source for file xxxxx is not Teamcenter (null)! Export skipped!
• Fixed an issue with WuT COMServer and Web-IO where a restart of a MI executed a reset of the whole device instead only resetting the COM interface if a system password is configured to access the WuT device.

• If you use NX CAM in combination with MRL Connect and DNC Connect the used MRL tools are saved now in the BOM of the created Workpackages from DNC Connect.

• First released version for prodcution with limited functionality of the new HTML 5 based Active Workspace look and feel web client - ActiveDNC. The actual web clis still available.
• ActiveDNC: If an error occurs during a query in Teamcenter, the error message is now displayed on the web page.

• SFC-WebClient can now use Teamcenter Security Service (TCSS) for user login.
• Logfiles soap_log.txt and tcdnc_log.txt replaced by SFC-Core.log.txt.
• New API functions: SFC_LoginSSO_20174 and SFC_Login_20174.
• New API function SFC_RequestSFCWorkpackage_20174 to request SFCWorkpackage in JSON format.

Bugfixes/Changes

• Fixed an issue where datasets of a deleted DNC type from a workplace specific configuration still have been found and shown.
• Fixed a refresh problem in SFC_RequestSFCWorkpackage_20152 to access new created activity folders of an existing MENCMachining Revision within an other TC session.
• New log file "SFC-WebClient.log.txt". The "old" Webclient will write logging messages now in this file instead of "tomcat.log".
• The configuration data of used dataset types for a DNC type is now stored in a Text dataset. The forms of type "AplusB DNC Datatype" will not be used anymore - except for already stored configurations.
• Upgrade of the internal Java to version 1.8.0_144 (only Windows).

MI-Server

Bugfixes/Changes

• Additional configuration property WaitUntilSendBufferIsEmpty.InitialWaitTime to fix issue where "Transfer ready" status was reported while serial transfer was still in progress. This is only an issue with WuT COMServer++, Firmware 1.40 and newer.
